Russe
Ruse e large port city on the Danube River in northeastern Bulgaria. It is the administrative and economic center of the homonymous municipality of Rousse Rousse. Rouse is among the most important economic centers in Bulgaria and is the fifth largest settlement in the country. In the region there is "Danube Bridge" in the past called "Friendship Bridge" which is the only facility of its kind in the Bulgarian-Romanian section of the Danube.
Downtown is known for its unique architecture from the late XIX-th and the beginning of the twentieth century. In the old buildings are widely represented style baroque, modern, neoclassical and art nouveau, and the facades are decorated with bay windows, balconies, columns, pilasters, arches, sculpted figures, busts, monograms and crests. The roofs are of galvanized zinc or copper plate, ending with turrets, weather vane, lightning rod and beautiful rails. The style of many of them influenced by the Viennese architecture. In 1893 Ruse municipality shall adopt regulations for the construction of private buildings. It ranks all the houses along the main street of town to be decorated with "plastic stone decoration." Often called "Little Vienna", Rouse won an honorary award for most beautiful city in Bulgaria in 2009 [1]
